Letter from Kim

On Wednesday, December 20th, The James Burton International Guitar Festival Presented a ‘Rockin’ Louisiana Christmas’ concert at Margaritaville Casino in Bossier City. The James Burton Foundation was thrilled to be able to donate 45 guitars to U.S. Veterans that evening and call each veteran up on stage to acknowledge their service.
Recently, our foundation was sent an email from someone who attended the show and presentation.
We wanted to share it with you. It meant a lot to us.
Know that your support for the James Burton Foundation makes such a huge difference.
Happy New Year and may it be the best one yet!

I was at the show at Margaritaville last night with my boyfriend, a combat veteran. I wanted to share with your organization how wonderful this event was for those veterans. The music was awesome and I know they were all happy to be given the gift of a guitar, but the chance to see other veterans and enjoy this event together was something I think they all valued. I heard several times as they greeted one another, “This is like a family reunion” or similar words. This can be a very difficult time of year for those that survived combat; many are grateful to have come home, but they struggle because they all know some that will never come home. It was a blessing for them to share this time together with those that truly understand these feelings. Thank you for honoring those that served. Merry Christmas and may God bless all of you.
